Next space rebels ending
I’m against a festival in place of a rebellion!
NEXT SPACE REBELS ENDING PLUS
We are working to set up a “quiet camp” away from the Occupation that will open on Friday and can accommodate Paint the Streets rebels and other “early birds” – If you’re unable to camp, we’re working on ensuring some indoor accommodation spaces (more details coming soon), plus the Human Hotel platform is active as a second alternative. Is there anywhere to stay on the Friday night? For now, make sure you arrive at Victoria Park on the evening of Friday 9th September to be fixed up with a team and sent out into the city. Keep checking the Rebellion Broadcast for a message incoming. Think flyposting, bus stop ads, gigantic billboards, and most of all, thousands of replacement underground adverts. What will Paint the Streets look like on Friday 9th night? You will need to be open to being arrested. If you are in a local group you can contact your regional action coordinators who will be able to link you in.
Phase 1 – The Curtain Raising Action / Paint The StreetsĬan people from local groups get involved in the secret actions? Imagine the 2003 march against the Iraq war, but this time we refuse to leave until our demands are met. Integrated with our methodical mobilisation campaign, Project 3.5, we will pledge to sign up 100k people by Srping 2023 to come back to London for major nonviolent civil resistance to win on our demands. This will centre major government disruption over a prolonged period until the government agrees to empower an independent Citizens’ Assembly on climate and ecological justice. With an autumn of direct action from multiple groups on the cards, there are plenty of ways to go out with a bang and work with other movements, setting us up for a period of growth and regeneration until the Spring. The final piece of the puzzle is still coming together. On the 14th October, we invite everyone to come back to Westminster, London, for disruptive nonviolent civil disobedience to join forces with other groups organising around the cost of living scandal. Together we will launch our fleet of rebellion buses(!) which will travel the length and breadth of the country, visiting local groups to celebrate their work, offering tools and resources in mobilisation and CAs, and building a narrative across the movement and the country – that we’re all in this together and together we can get ourselves out of it. Morning of Tuesday 13th: We plan to go out with a bang before the start of the tour! (phase 3)Īfter 3 days together in London, the Rebellion goes on the move for a period of regional mobilisation.Saturday 10th – Monday 12th: Occupation in Hyde Park.
NEXT SPACE REBELS ENDING HOW TO
From there there will be trainings in community mobilisation, and how to speak to people about Citizens Assemblies. We will occupy a site and build it together from the ground up, filling the space with music, art, direct democracy and the tools and ideas of resistance and regenerative culture. On the morning of Saturday 10th, meet us at Marble Arch. However, on the evening of Friday 9th, there will be a country-wide Paint the Streets campaign that everyone can take part in to promote September 10th.įrom the 10th-13th September we invite everyone to join us in London for a 3 day occupation in a green space. PHASE 1 – Paint the Street – September 9thĭuring the week leading up to September 10th, there will be big, audacious actions focusing on Citizens Assemblies and our failing democracy. These will NOT be mass participation actions where everyone can take part. In a nutshell, the plan will centre people power and mass mobilisation at the heart, and be made up of the following 5 phases: Politics as usual will do anything to avoid facing up to the reality of the climate and ecological crisis, so without large numbers out on the streets, our demands will be ignored.
September will be the first step in a laser-focused, strategic plan that sees Extinction Rebellion growing in numbers and building momentum towards Spring 2023. From September 10th we will meet at 10 am at Marble Arch in London and make the demand for climate action impossible to ignore.
